In some instances, a previous breast augmentation can produce unsatisfactory
results, such as improper size, excessive firmness, wrinkles or
ripping, or a positional shift of one or both implants. Dr. Fiala
has extensive experience in helping women with this challenging
area. Since each patient is different, the treatment plan for a
breast revision must be individualized for each person. A combination
of techniques can be used, including changing the implant size,
capsulectomy or capsulotomy (removing the scar tissue), internal
suturing or use of a different style of implant. The intended result
is a more satisfactory, more symmetrical breast appearance and a
more positive self image.
