What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that uses clinically-proven cooling technology to effectively reduce fat without surgery. CoolSculpting results are noticeable and natural-looking. CoolSculpting selectively reduces the fat in problem areas that have proven resistant to diet and exercise – like muffin tops, love handles and back fat. It is also effective for a double chin. It’s FDA approved, and backed up by numerous clinical studies – Coolsculpting works.
How does CoolSculpting really work?
It’s a fact: fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the overlying skin and surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting “freezes the fat” by cooling the treatment area to a low temperature. This process, called cryolipolysis, starts the natural biological clean-up process known as “apoptosis”, whereby the fat cells are gradually eliminated by the body. The skin and muscles remain unharmed.
When will the results from CoolSculpting be visible?
Patients generally start to see results as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the final results being visible after about 4-6 months.
What happens during the CoolSculpting treatment?
The treatment head of the CoolSculpting machine is placed on the area to be treated. A gentle vacuum draws the fold of fat into the treatment head, between two cooling panels. The temperature of the area is then lowered. The area is treated for one hour. There are no needles, no incisions, no need for anesthesia, and no recovery time. During their treatment, patients can read, work on their laptop computer, listen to music or just relax. Most patients typically resume their routine activities, including returning to work and exercise regimens on the same day as the procedure.
What kind of results will I see from CoolSculpting?
Patients can expect an average 20% reduction of fat in the treated areas after each treatment. The same area can be re-treated in 4 weeks, for an even greater degree of fat reduction.
How do I know if I’m a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
The best candidates for the CoolSculpting procedure are people near their ideal body weight who have pockets of fat that are unresponsive. It is appropriate for those who are seeking spot reduction for specific areas of fat but are not interested in a surgical procedure.
How much recovery time is there after CoolSculpting?
Patients frequently return to work and their regular activities right after the session is finished. The treated area may be a little red for a few hours, and may remain partially numb for about a week, or sometimes longer.
