What is ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth is a radio-frequency skin treatment which is used to tighten and smooth facial areas. Mild to moderate facial wrinkling, texture issues and early laxity can be improved, over a course of 3-4 treatments.
What areas can be treated with ThermiSmooth?
ThermiSmooth is typically used on the face:
- lower eyelids
- around the upper and lower lips
We also have the larger, more powerful ThermiSmooth 250 unit for body treatments.
What is a ThermiSmooth treatment like?
After the skin is cleansed, gel is applied to the area, and the ThermiSmooth wand is placed on the skin. The patients feel a mild warming sensation – not hot or painful – as the energy is applied. Treatments take about 20-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated, and are typically repeated every 4 weeks. No anesthesia or sedation is required. Recovery is quick, with no significant downtime, no bruising and or swelling.

How does ThermiSmooth work?
ThermiSmooth uses radio-frequency energy to heat the skin and induce new collagen production. The ThermiRF platform is the first FDA-approved machine that has a built-in temperature probe (“Thermistor”) that is used to precisely regulate the amount of energy delivered. This improves both safety and effectiveness. In addition, a sophisticated Infra-red imaging camera (“FLIR”) is used to monitor the skin temperature to ensure safety and patient comfort.
What’s the difference between ThermiTight and ThermiSmooth?
While both treatments use the ThermiRF energy source, the ThermiTight uses a probe that goes underneath the skin with a surgical approach, while the ThermiSmooth is a skin surface treatment performed by our aesthetician, with a wand that moves over the top of the skin.
